The Dovetail Guidelines
Critical papers and creative work in the form of
written research, prose, poetry, film, recorded performance and art etc.
submitted to The
Dovetail must be original and never before published. If
material has already been submitted to other journals or publications, it will
not be accepted.
By submitting work or papers to The Dovetail all authors and artists must agree to the guidelines and submission procedures.
Before submitting a paper/ work please copy and fill out the Agreement & Permission form by going here.
If unable to copy the form request a form from the General Editor via email. Submissions will not be accepted without a signed and completed Agreement & Permission form. Email the completed form along with your submission to the General Editor. All authors and artists who submit papers must either be current post-graduates, or hold an MA, MFA or equivalent. Papers and work are accepted from qualified doctoral and post-doctoral authors and artists.
All
authors or artists remain the copyright holders of their work, but the right of
first publication is granted to The Dovetail.
Material may be reused by the author or artist only following the first publication
of the material in The Dovetail [online]. Whenever
material is referenced post-publication elsewhere, The Dovetail, must be fully credited and referenced as the
original publisher, giving the full title of the journal issue, article title, and date, journal issue
number and publisher details.
All critical submissions or commentaries must follow the MHRA style guide here.
Papers must be proof-read prior to submission, or else they will be rejected.
Papers intended for submission in a language other than English, (except Welsh*) must obtain a professional proof-read in advance.
